“As Thanksgiving approaches, I always feel a sense of warmth and gratitude wash over me. It’s a time to slow down and really appreciate all the blessings in our lives. For the past couple of years, I have taken a moment to write a reflection on what I was thankful for, and as I think about it again this year, I feel like it’s something I’d like to make a tradition. So – here goes.

For me, Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. It’s not about the commercialization or the rush—it’s about family, being thankful, and that feeling of togetherness that makes it so special.
As many of you know, I’m just a hometown boy from little ol LaFayette, Alabama. Thanksgiving always meant something special to me, especially the times spent with family. I have many fond memories of gatherings at my childhood home right off of Avenue A downtown, surrounded by the people who meant the most to me—my mom, Bea Walton, who many of you knew as your elementary school teacher or your principal, my dad, “Bill” Walton, who was not only an attorney but also a true pillar of Chambers County, my sister Marianne, and of course, our big extended family—grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Those family moments have shaped me into who I am today, and they’ve taught me the importance of family, community, and always taking a moment to give thanks.
In this season of reflection, I want to express my gratitude to all of our clients and previous clients for their trust and confidence in our firm. I’m deeply thankful for the trust that each of you have placed into myself and Walton Law Firm, P.C. It is a humbling responsibility to fight for your rights and help you through some of the most challenging times of your lives. I do not take that responsibility lightly.
I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my wonderful staff, I fondly refer to as #TEAMWOW, whose hard work and dedication make everything we do possible. You all are the backbone of Walton Law Firm, and I’m incredibly fortunate to have such a talented and committed team.
As we gather around the dinner table this Thanksgiving, I hope we can set aside the noise of the world and focus on what truly matters—family, love, and gratitude. I know this year has been tough for many of us, and for some, it might feel like there isn’t much to be thankful for right now. But even in the hardest times, there’s always something to hold on to—a kind word, a small moment of peace, the support of loved ones. I hope this Thanksgiving brings a chance to reflect on those little things, and to find comfort in the presence of those who matter most.
Wishing you all a Thanksgiving filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of family. Happy Thanksgiving!
Your Friend,
– Trip Walton”
